This package adds one lane in each direction for all uses between Lincoln Avenue and Douglas Lane and adds a fixed-guideway transit system between Lincoln Avenue to Plum Creek Parkway to the No-Action Package.
Highway - The general purpose lanes are designed to meet CDOT standards. The final highway configuration between Lincoln Avenue and Meadows/Founders Parkway is 3 general purpose lanes and 1 climbing lane in each direction and south of Meadows/Founders Parkway is 3 general purpose lanes in each direction.
Fixed - Guideway Transit (Lincoln Avenue to Plum Creek Parkway) – The transit system (LRT or Self-Propelled Rail (DMU)) is constructed between Lincoln Avenue and Plum Creek Parkway. The system connects to the Southeast Corridor LRT system. Park-n-Ride stations are assumed to be located at the Southeast Corridor Terminus, Castle Pines Parkway, Meadows/Founders Parkway, and Plum Creek.
Alternate Routes - The I-25 Alternate Route that is included in this package is Crowfoot Valley Road. Crowfoot Valley Road improvements include upgrading Crowfoot Valley Road and Stroh Road to four-lane arterials between Founders Parkway and Parker Road. The US 85 Alternate Route: Extend US 85 is also included in this package.
Supporting Measures - Supporting Measures may include recommendations from the I-25 Interchange Study and Railroad Relocation Study, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) measures, Transportation System Management (TSM) measures, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) measures. These supporting measures include an emphasis on transit TDM and TSM. Enhancements/Mitigation measures are included as design elements.
