Transportation Management
1. Transportation System Management
- Reclassify an existing lane - A change in classification of a lane (i.e. an existing general purpose lane is changed to a special purpose lane).
2. Special Purpose Lanes
- High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane - A lane used only by vehicles with high occupancy (typically defined as two or more people).
- High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lane - A lane used by non-high occupancy vehicles for a fee. The lane is used free of charge for vehicles with high occupancy (typically defined as two or more people).
- Toll Lane - A lane that requires a fee from every vehicle using the facility.
- Reversible Lane - A lane that is designated for one direction during part of the day and the other direction during a different part of the day. Reversible lanes are effective when your travel patterns are predominantly in one direction during the morning peak and the other direction during the afternoon peak.
- Flex Lane (time of day) - A shoulder is used as a lane during rush hours.
- Express Lane- A lane that is designated for through traffic only (ex: Denver Tech Center to Colorado Springs).
