  • Max Operational Speed: 110 mph
  • Acceleration Rate: 1.0 mph/sec
  • Deceleration Rate: 1.5 mph/sec
  • Station Dwell Time: 120 sec
  • Station Spacing: typically no less than 5 miles
  • Passengers: 80-200
  • Locomotive powered by diesel-electric (either pushing or pulling cars)
  • Maximum Grade: 3-3.5%
  • Can share tracks with freight trains and other inter-city passenger service
  • May use existing track within existing freight railroad
  • Can connect 3 to 10 cars
  • Generally most applicable for regional trips (between 20 to 100 miles)
