Conceptual Design Phase

The Titan Road Improvement Project began in the Spring of 1999. The conceptual design phase of the project was completed early in 2000.

Preliminary Design Phase

After determining a feasible design solution, CDOT began preliminary design in the Spring of 2000. During this phase CDOT will conducted studies, obtained clearances, and determined the need for any mitigation measures.

  • Traffic Noise Analysis was completed during this phase.

    Final Design Phase

Final plans were prepared with the final design stage completed as scheduled in June 2001.

    Contractor Selection

SEMA Construction, Inc. of Englewood, Colo. was selected as the construction contractor for the project, following advertisement of the job during summer 2001.  SEMA Construction is on track to complete construction by June 2003.

    Construction (Current Phase!)

Construction of the Titan Road Improvement project is under way with dirt hauling operations preparing the project site.  As the project progresses, new grade-separated bridges on Titan Road will cross over Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroad tracks to eliminate vehicle/train accidents.  A new four-ramp diamond interchange will be constructed at US 85 following a northern realignment of Titan Road (see Project Description page for further detail).

Other construction elements include construction of local access roads connecting Titan Road with Titan Park Circle, Titan Court and area businesses.  On the east side of US 85, Wildfield Lane also will be realigned and extended to the north to connect with Titan Road.
