The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) began preliminary design for a new overpass at I-25 and 5th Street in Castle Rock, in summer 1998. The design project was the result of the 'I-25 Through Castle Rock Feasibility Study', which analyzed the existing traffic and safety conditions in the area.

The project progressed steadily through the preliminary and final design processes. These were completed by summer 2000. The contractor began construction in September 2000, and construction was completed in July 2001! Thank you for following our project through design and construction!
