Conceptual Design Phase  

The conceptual design phase has been completed.

Preliminary Design Phase  

The preliminary design phase began in early 1999, and has been completed.

Final Design Phase  

The US 85 & I-25 Interchange project final design phase has been completed. A Final Office Review (FOR) was conducted, and the completed plans and specifications have been packaged for the construction bid and advertisement.

Advertisement  

Public advertisement for the construction contract was scheduled for April 19, 2001 and the bids were opened and the job was awarded to Centric-Jones, LLC of Lakewood, Colorado as the prime contractor.

Construction  

Construction of the US 85 & I-25 Interchange Relocation began in June 2001. The construction contract includes 220 working days between June 2001 and May 2002 and a 6,778,000 dollar budget.

    Phase 1 & 2: Reconstruct and widen Meadows Parkway and intersections. Work scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2001.  Completed!

    Phase 3: Close the existing US 85 & I-25 ramps. Remove the existing bridge and construct the new bridge. Complete roadway work on both sides of the new bridge.  Completed!

    Phase 4: Final paving work, improvements to existing US 85.

    Please note that the existing ramps at the I-25 & US 85 interchange WILL NOT BE CLOSED UNTIL WORK ON MEADOWS PARKWAY IS COMPLETE!!
