The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) completed construction of the Climbing Lanes, Phase I project, wrapping up operations which began in winter 1998. The project was opened for traffic in September 2000 while CDOT conducted final inspections and acceptance routines with the contractor, prior to project closeout. The completed project addresses some concerns identified in the South Front Range Corridor Assessment Study (CAS) which were designated for immediate action by subsequent safety and traffic analysis.
