Construction Completed!
The new Castle Pines Parkway Interchange is now
open! Reconstruction on this interchange started in May of 2004. This
project saw heavy construction on the ramps and bridge throughout the months of March and April
2005, but the entire interchange was completed during the month of July. The old Castle Pines
bridge at exit 188 was torn down on Thursday, January 27th.

Project Background
Jointly funded by Douglas
County and the Colorado Department of Transportation, the existing Castle Pines Parkway Interchange is slated for replacement. The interchange will provide a new
bridge over I-25 with two lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound. A loop ramp
will be constructed in the southeast quadrant providing a direct movement from
eastbound Castle Pines to northbound I-25, and the northbound off ramp to Castle
Pines will be relocated to allow the loop ramp construction.
As part of the project, a car
pool lot will be constructed in the northeast corner of the interchange. This
car pool lot will initially provide 108 parking stalls, with the ability to
expand to over 500 parking stalls.
Future Additions to this
page
As construction gets under way
on this project, you will notice that this page will evolve into a number of
pages, much like the projects under the "Completed Projects" bar. Some of
the additions to this site will include contact individuals (who can answer
questions you may have that are not covered on this site), a number of photos
(so you can see the progress of construction), a project area map and much much
more! So be sure to check back often to see what's new!
